Hi, LegitRacer. First of all, it’s a pleasure to have you here, and more important, to have you as part of Furia. For those who still don’t know you, I think it would be a good idea to start with the basics. Tell us a little bit about yourself, your experience as a pro gamer, and especially about how you became part of the Furia team.
Well, thanks. Basically, I have always loved racing games, but what really turned me into a serious online competitor were, Moto GP 3 and PGR 2. After the XBox360 came out, I went on to PGR 3, and it was then that I began competing in official tournaments like the WCG and right now, I am practicing Forza 2.
Let me tell you a little about my experience as a pro gamer, the last two years have been one heck of a ride. I had the chance to visit other places like Italy, Seattle, Cancun, and Los Angeles just to name a few.
And as to how I arrived into Furia, all I can say is that after everything that happened with ElEcTrOfLoW, the GM’s of both teams made some arrangements with the players lineup and luckily I ended up on the team.
That’s awesome. Tell us about your experience on the team Rio?
It was an unforgettable experience, because it was the first time that I was in a League of this status. When the final series was just around the corner, my teammate (LAVU) couldn’t make it. I spoke to mEtAlx and asked him to join us. He accepted just 2 days before the tournament, and in 2 days there wasn’t enough time to practice, or to be at the same level as the rest of the teams. We did what we could, and we came up with some good strategies, especially in the “dirty” job. I mean, some P.I.T. maneuvers (when you make the other car spin around with minimum damage) to clear the road for me.
As we saw in the Finals, without the synergy, it’s impossible to win a race. Tell us more about your performance in the Championship.
Well, since the first minute, I was pretty excited and I had the opportunity to start from an excellent position, against Underground. For the first couple of laps I took the lead. Then cam passed me. I saw the opportunity to take him out on a curve, and I did. mEtAlx did a terrific job keeping MORPO out of my way.
And now Furia is aiming for the second Regional Championship in a row. We must defeat Rio Sinistro once again. If our fans don’t remember, last year was a close and tough match (23-22). Do you feel that your knowledge of our rival will become a key factor, or will it be a whole different outcome entirely? What are your feelings about facing your previous team?
Definitely it will be a match where we will give everything we have. Playing for all or nothing. So, we will have to practice a lot, leaving nothing to chance to avoid the “random” factor of Forza. And of course, to take maximum advantage of what you know about your rival.
The first step to the World Finals has a name, and it’s Rio Sinistro. As you have said, it will demand us to play as a team. Regarding that, how has you adaptation to Furia been? Besides mEtAlx, did you know anyone else?
From the WCG, I have met with Divino Xmas and SecretAgent, and from previous CGS, Hitomi 1, Zercero, ElEcTrOfLoW and v1kooo. They are all excellent players and good friends. And from the outside, we saw more integration in Furia, if you compare it with other teams. That means that the GM is doing a great job in that department.
Don’t start praising NoobZaibot or he will become even more egocentric. I’m kidding. Let’s talk now about yourself outside the job. What can you tell us about your hobbies? Are you a hardcore race fan?
Actually, in my family a lot of uncles are race drivers. Even my brother is a motorcycle racer and I’d always wanted to be a driver. About my hobbies, it’s the usual, going out to the cinema, listening to music, playing Rock Band and some mountain biking. But with all the training right now, it’s very difficult to find some time for hobbies.
Rock Band should be a game for the next CGS… or at least some Guitar Hero.
Guitar Hero is already in the WCG, I love those kinds of games.
Yeah. Well LegitRacer, this has been a great interview, do you have any final words for all the Furia fans out there?
Don’t miss our decisive match against Rio Sinistro this July, 10th. And to all of you, who think you’re good in racing games, enter Live to make the Mexican gaming community grow even more. To show everyone that there’s quality in here.
And quality is the equivalent of Furia. Thanks again Luis, good luck against Rio and keep up the practice that this year nothing stops Mexico City Furia.
Ok, thanks to you and Arre Furia!
