The Furia Countdown - Day Three

Posted by: NoobZaibot

If somebody has been a part of every single mexican competition in Counter Strike, that can be only Jose "SecretAgent" Fernandez. Veteran player of the gaming community, his participation in a lot of international tournaments, his deep knowledge of the game and his well known leadership role makes him the best option for being the head of the new CSS Squad for this Season 2008 of the Furia.

A Closer Look
Name:
Jose Fernandez
Nickname:
SecretAgent
Age:
19
Location:
Tijuana, Mexico
Fav. Weapon:
Colt m4a1

Well known by his past teams in 1.6 (IRONMEN, 5F, etc.) and his participations in WCG, ESWC and more, SecretAgent switched to Counter Strike Source because of the CGS Draft and Combine for Season 2007. He loved the game since the first moment, and decided to learn everything about the game. However, with such a short time ahead, the Art of War Team (later, the Furia) went to the CGS Combine trying to reach a dream. Being the lowest seeded team, they had to face g3nerationX in the first round. They overcame the odds, with a strong play against them, defeating the Brazilian powerhouse.

The second challenge for SecretAgent came when he had to face inRAGE. Well known as being the only Source team in Mexico, they came with a huge background and high expectances. However, their vast knowledge of the game was a double-sided weapon that SecretAgent knew how to use against them. With strats came straight from the previous version and a strong leadership and attitude, they defeated one of the favorites in their own game.

Finally they had to face the overwhelming Brazilian powerhouse. MiBR defeated Art of War, but the score was very close. Everything after that, is well known story. Furia picked Art of War as the official CSS Team, and SecretAgent was designated Team Captain. Despite the results against the Berlin Allianz, we truly trust in the leadership ability and experience of Jose, skills that we know will allow us to pick a strong squad.

After the season 2007 ended, Jose went out to play in different places and with different styles : from puging in ESEA all day, to play as a ringer in the X3O CEVO-P Team. SecretAgent will be the main Furia Scouter this Thursday May 15th, in the Furia Challenge for CSS and will advice our General Manager in the CSS picks. He may be playing in one of the teams, or spectating the match.

Good luck Jose, and make us proud !

ARRE FURIA !

Oh My Gosh!

This has to be the something NOT TO CELEBRATE guys (unless youre a friend of him or dont like the country he represents), but to cry for. Ill continue with the little biography our friend NoobZaibot did, about SecretAgent with the full story, we have to show full story to the public dont we?

Secret Agents has indeed participate in all kinds of events, to allways bring shame to the mexican country/community. Lets recap his "acomplishments" as a player. WCG 2006 National Champion indeed, but when the real challenge was up to his team, they came with a very poor result, but ONLY winning 1 game out of the 6 they had in the WCG full group league against the Philipines, yes you read right, the Philipines.

On ESWC, we had (for the record, this event was before the wcg 2006 event, but im writing as Im thinking) a more dishonorable record, with not even a single win, and with a point cap of -50! (yes minus 50), so he had a even worst result in a past event, making us think his performance is going down the line, opposed as it should be if youre a good gamer.

On CEVO, yet the same history repeated, his commanded team lost ALL of their matches (oh wait, i never lie right, they won 1 match by forfeit, LOL), and doing the sum of wons round and lost we get a very shame (yet again) performance of -55 ( I even considered a +10 for that forfeit win).

And at last the WORS LOSE IN THE HISTORY OF ESPORTS IN MEXICO, I really dont have words to describe this, that match against Berlin, like, they didnt even had to win that match, just get 7 rounds (yest just 7 out of the 18 ).

Doesnt his history ring bells for the "scout team", who is really this scout team (i really belive it doesnt exist, so why lie to us, the community). Why keep a leader who hasn never shown even an average performance (we dont even want an amazing perfofmance, just average), whos never had a winning streak on any event?

While I was researching for my facts (I already knew them, just wanted to make sure =D and not lie by my thoughs ) I came across inRage at Cevo P, a team that by his own ways made it to that league (Furia didnt made it by them alone, as they had the CGS as sponsor they were moved up there), and has won a game already! They even played against a CGS team (the 2nd place of the CGS World Finals, Carolina Core) and get a decent result, 13-7 (this result could have given us the move up in the world finals last year at cgs), and their other match was a very very close one, their current performance (based on rounds) is just 29-30, which ill bet they will improve on next games.

How come the "scouting" leader will be a person who hasnt show us his potential, we know hes good, but as a leader we have seen hes not, if i could only break my vote of silence that i have with some players (ex team members of his past teams), i could tell you some amazing histories of how SecretAgent is the worst pick ever for the team. But im an honorable person and I write this with current facts and research i made (in just half an hour), something that the GM of Furia seems is not doing (at least right). Anyways as I want the best for the team, here I am, expressing whats needed for them to change their current BAD ways of selecting.

Please guys, it is not my job to research for players (i dont get paid for this), thats supposed to be yours, its just that i want to see our team in a good direction.

Goooooood Luck!

As usual is a total pleasure to answer you.

Sure, international results are not the best for the teams that SecretAgent has been part of. However, I wanna see another results of Mexican teams internationally and get some better things. Sadly, that wouldn't be possible. There's no mexican CS team with good international results in LAN events. The only ones that could be named as a sucessful team in the international side, would be of course, inRage. They are really the first truly CSS Team that made it to CEVO-P, starting from the scratch. Unfortunately, they lost against the Season 2007 Furia CSS Squad in the Latinamerican Draft and Combine, as you can see in the article. However, we have been following them very closely, and luckily they are signed up to the challenge already, so maybe you would see some faces from there in the new squad. Ah ! By the way, if you check the stats from CEVO-P, I played some of the matches from that season. What do you think of my game ?

I've said to many, many players that always contact me or the Furia Scouters (people that really exist, yes, they are not an invention and they are doing their job), that Furia is not picking a whole team this year. Not even inRage. Why ? Because as a Manager, i've noted that every single team has strengths and weaknesses. From the Furia to the inRage. All of them have some "Aquilles Heel" (using your own words again). For example, in the CGS World Finals, the lack of experience of most of the team in the stage, killed our game, something that happened with the Sydney Underground too (yes, the panasian undefeated champions). It's my plan to pick the best of the best from Mexico, and believe me, most of the well known players that you use as a reference, congratulated me today by the excellent pick that i've made. It's well known that SecretAgent is a player with experience, skills and a truly passion for the game. Sadly that (being honest) his teams wouldn't be able to reach the same level. It's my duty and task, to give him that team now, and not only to him but to the whole mexican community.

Thanks for your words, your advices, and your facts. They are really appreciated, analyzed and applicated. However, in this case, I truly believe that my decision is accurate. And time will tell.

Your truly,
Your Favorite GM.

MMM...I'm beginning to suspect the team will have no changes at all!! and for the part that the players had no stage experience at all and him wanting to keep them for that reason , I happen to know a player that has plenty of experience on stage , and this player has expressed you his /her interest in your team...still , i don't thinkany changes will be made............
