The World Finals are starting tomorrow, and the final spot needed to be filled. With the Carolina Core, Dallas Venom, San Francisco OPTX, Berlin Allianz, Birmingham Salvo, Wuhan Dragon and Sydney Underground already in the brackets, the last name was waiting for the winner of the LatinAmerican Final.
Rio Sinistro and Mexico City Furia were gearing up for this match during months. With the Rio Sinistro CSS Squad (former MiBR) training a lot, the DOA Squad from Brazil improving, the Forza Duo having our former player, UFO-79ERN and the WCG Pan-Am Champion in their lineup, many critics argued that the Region 2 Champion this season would be the Brazilian team. In the other side, with the all-new CSS Squad, the mighty DOA Duo, the former Rio Racing team and our beloved champion of the FIWC, the Mexico City Furia was doing a discrete but unstoppable training schedule.
The First Game was DOA Male, with El Divino Xmas facing SnakeJorge in Colliseum, the Hayabusa Mirror match was going to be exciting. The first round went to RIO, with an excellent handling of the defense, powered by the deep knowledge of Divino's gamestyle. However, this first loss only activated the Mexican Destruction Machine, getting 5 rounds in a row to seal the deal : 5-1 in our favor.
Things were going hot and now was Zerecero's turn. As a rematch of the previous WCG Pan-Am match, he picked France and Patan from RIO picked England. The match was very tight, with both sides wasting grat chances against the excellent performance of the goal keepers. One error from Zerecero in the pass at the middle area caused a big counter attack from patan, giving hi m the first and only goal of the match. It was 1x0 for Rio.
DOA Female was next. With our Season 1 MVP, Hitomi 1 against YoSuccubus, the Kyoto in Bloom stage was not enough to contain the revenge in the air. Hitomi 1 started the match with the opening round in her favor, but then YoSuccubus counter attacked getting a 1-1 that gave Rio high hopes. However, 4 rounds in a row determined the ending result, 5-1 in our favor with an outstanding performance from Hitomi 1.
Forza Motorsport is a high-quality racing game. With that said, high quality racers are needed. Our couple, LEGITRACER and mEtAlx, showed their quality against a big UFO-79ERN that raced like the best, and a DRZX that only confirmed that he should have prepared with more time, despite the fact that LAVU failed to his team for second year in a row. The race started with a big collission exchange, changing the second place in almost 4 times, and LEGITRACER getting an amazing first place with a huge difference. 5-2 points for us, and the trophy was almost in our hands.
Finally, our CSS Squad found its time to prove their worth against the former ESWC 2006 champion in 1.6. The first rounds in de_dust2 were to Rio, with an amazing performance from Nak and Cogu, followed closely by fnx. After a winning streak from Rio, the Furia was able to finally score some points in the board, ending the first half 6-3 to Rio. The match was intense, with a huge chance for Rio to comeback and change the performance of the last year. However, the two rounds needed were scored by the Furia, ending the match with a loss of 11-7 but a franchise match win of 22-16 over Rio Sinistro.
With that said, ladies and gentlemen, We are the Champions,
AGAIN. Here we go World Finals !
