Zerecero wins FIWC Brazil

Posted by: NoobZaibot

Held in the main city of Sao Paulo in Brazil, the Brazilian Qualifier was the last chance for Ruben for winning a ticket to the Fifa Interactive World Cup Finals, to be held in May at the city of Berlin, Germany. After his excellent performance in the USA Qualifier some weeks ago, and tweaking some little mistakes in his game, Ruben decided to attend the Brazilian qualifier and challenge the best of the best from Brazil : the former champion Andre Buffo and the sensational revelation Richard Riviere.

"It was something that I never imagined, It was a long journey for fulfilling a dream, and it came to a good end" said Ruben after his amazing match.

Everything went well for our Furia member, who played a very strong game from the very beginning, defeating in his way a long list of well known players, included his former team-mate "Atumishcua" from the Fifasticos Mexican FIFA Squad.

"I was really sad to find a friend in my way to the victory, I really hoped to have him in the finals, but in the end only one would win the first place, so I played my best" Zerecero stated.

After defeating Atumishcua in the quarter finals, once again Ruben was going to play against the very favorite from the competition. Andre Buffo was the Brazilian champion from the FIFA Interactive World Cup 2006 and has played well over 800 matches in preparation for this event. Just like it happened in the FIWC USA Qualifier.

The match was really hard, with both defenses strongly assembled and the goalkeepers saving the situations continously. At the end, after an extra time, Ruben was victorious with a 4-3 score and in presence of a huge crowd supporting the brazilian.

"The pressure was present as always, with the crowd cheering for my rival and him playing very well. Hopefully, I've learned from my past and now I can handle better this kind of situation, giving me the confidence to play my game and show my skills" noted Zerecero.

In the grand finals, he defeated Richard Riviere 3-1, not easily but with the confidence that the hardest match was behind. The assistants to the event wouldn't give credit to their eyes : a mexican came to Brazil, the country that grew up with the soccer, and defeated everybody.

Good luck in Berlin Ruben ! Stay tuned for pictures and of course, an excellent interview with Zerecero at his return !

Congrats!

I'm curious... where's ScoreR in regards to the FIWC competition? I've heard no mention of him in any of the articles. Is he playing in it? I only ask because he was the original Furia FIFA player and I'm trying to see how he stacks up to Ruben (my personal favorite from the Live Qualifier last year).

ScoreR is playing FIFA for PC only. Since FIWC is played in PS3, he's out of this competition. However, if you wanna know a little about ScoreR's achievements, visit www.speed.com.pe , his current team

Bien Caon!!!

Venga VENGA Furia.

ANIMO!!!!
